Future Day

On this year's Future Day, we opened our doors to Amelie, Klara and Michelle. Full of zest for action, they were given the opportunity to immerse themselves in various professions and work processes in print production.

The day began with a creative challenge - designing their own card. Under guidance, the girls ventured into image editing and developed unique designs. From digital imagination to concrete implementation - a first step into the multifaceted world of pre-press.

After this creative phase, they moved on to the finishing department, where they enthusiastically supported our employees in various work steps.

This was followed by the highlight of the day for most of them. A visit to the high-bay warehouse. Surrounded by rolls of paper, printing inks and materials, the girls learned how efficient warehousing works and what influence it has on the smooth running of the print shop. The practical part in our high-bay warehouse was only for those with a head for heights. With the goods lift and Angelo as an escort, they were allowed to travel 12.5 meters into the air and try their hand at storing pallets.

In the next step, the young talents delved into the secrets of the printing plate. With skillful hands, they learned how to prepare the printing plate in order to transfer the created design into reality. The combination of craftsmanship and technology became particularly clear here.

Insights into the world of color mixing broadened their understanding of printing. With the help of Fiona and Tatjana (apprentice flexographic printers), they were able to mix colors at their own discretion and discovered the variety of tones and that sometimes less is more.

Under expert guidance, they were then able to place their self-designed cards on our flexo machine and experience the fascinating moment when their ideas became a tangible reality.

It's always great to introduce young people to the many different areas of the printing industry.

Many thanks to everyone involved and to Michelle, Amelie and Klara for making the day so special.
